He highlights the president’s first debate performance and his campaign’s response.
Representative Scott Peters of California raised questions about President Joe Biden’s campaign strategy and the response it had to the president’s first debate performance. He noted that the president is “having a hard time“ in swing states.
Congressman Peters voiced his support for President Biden but stated, “We needed a boost from [the debate]. We didn’t get it.“
“We want to know what [the Biden campaign’s] plan is to win this election and turn these numbers around,” he said. “If they don’t have a plan, then I think we have to move in a different direction.”
Others of his party have raised concerns about President Biden’s viability as a candidate, but only Representatives Lloyd Doggett of Texas and Raul Grijalva of Arizona have urged the president to withdraw from the race.
